rushed and low quality i been a fan of g bailey for long time since i found her winter series and her runes series and her other ones so when the first book of this series came out i got it without hesitation and while it was a good read it was rushed abit as per usual when it comes to her work but eventhough it was rushed and short her stories are usually verry well done but this alpha story that was continued in this book i dont get it it started out good but steadily got rushed then this river comes in and eventually becomes her mate along with the alpha brothers then the story gets rushed along and then points to a spin off with elodies kids being the mcs or some such thing i dont know what goes through g baileys head to make her want to rush these things i know being an author is hard work plus dealing with rl responsabilities but either do the work justice or dont do it all or however the old expression goes i know my opinion may not be wanted but just am pointing out things as i see them with all due respectGood follow-up to Book 1, wish it had been a trilogy instead I loved Book 1 of the Alpha Brothers series, and liked the sequel in the duology (sadly not as much as Book 1). I liked seeing the relationship build between Elodie and River (SWOOOOON!) and I liked that the Alpha Brothers had to work to gain Elodie's trust back because of what she had to go through while they were dealing with the issues back at their pack. I liked the twist with the long lost character but I wished the plot wasn't as rushed as it was. I loved how Elodie stood up to the horrible traditions and picked people for her inner circle and provided for the people in her pack. It made me smile and in those scenes, I couldn't put the book down. I think it was once the Alpha Brothers came to the castle and tried to win back Elodie where it started to feel too fast. Not saying the story was bad or anything, it just could have been fleshed out a little more, maybe a third book, to help round out the story and give the readers the epic conclusion to Elodie and her guys story that it deserves. I think the toughest part for me was the big end scene was over pretty quickly. I really enjoyed the flashbacks from the guys, gave great insight into how they started the Luxa Pack. I think the reveal of a certain characters name, while I understand why it was revealed that way, there wasn't any follow-up/acknowledgement from Elodie or from said person. I think that could have helped cement their bond even further. I did think it was adorable how the walls were finally broken with Alpha, definitely that line is on my top list of swoonworthy phrases by book boyfriends hahahaSo overall, I still recommend this series, but I think Book 2 has so much potential that wasn't showcased in the execution. I am excited to see the spinoff though, see what happens with these new set of characters and the addition of a new supernatural creature.Disappointed So here's the ongoing problem I find with G Bailey. The quality of her work varies to the degree that often I ADORE a book of hers, then another I read is so poorly written I'm shocked they are the same writer. The tone and quality can shift so much that without her name on the cover I would swear it's an entirely different person writing it.I loved the first in this series, and expected this to be a trilogy. Instead, while the first few chapters held a bit of promise (again falling back into the strangely youthful first person voice of her lower quality work) the plotline was rushed and about halfway through you saw her lose interest in the story and the characters. The Alpha brothers had almost entirely lost their individual personalities and were simply names by the end, not separate entities, and the River storyline was entirely out of left field and felt forced. I pre-purchased this book and now regret doing so since I don't plan to read it again.Honestly, I'm tired of never knowing the quality of the work I'm going to get with G and it makes me no longer want to invest in her work.
